Congratulations to our newly elected and re-elected government officials
Congratulations to Mayor Staffieri and the rest of the Derby residents who were entrusted by the voters of Derby with the task of leading our great little city for the next two years. (A full list can be found along with complete election results on the Derby Web Site).
What would you consider the five most important items our newly elected and re-elected government officials need to focus on over the next two years? Please rank them in order of importance from 1 (being the highest) to 5 (being the lowest). We will use this information as the basis for the beginning of our community discussion.

The most important things facing Derby are
1. Downtown renewal - final scope and final plan of action to move out the property owners who are dragging their feet for whatever reason and we know it’s not the bs they claim in their press campaign
2. Fiscal restraint by our tax board on education
3. fiscal responsibility by the mostly new Board of Education
4. Expansion of Street Dept Personnel to handle more work by not using contractors
5. And continued hard work by our great Board of Alderman they are really the peoples representatives
